The Need for Staff Housing
The shortage of housing in London is well known, especially for key workers such as teachers. To be able to offer a home to new and junior staff is a very important aspect of the ability of St Paul's to attract and retain high quality teachers. This has a direct bearing on the quality of the education we are able to provide. We already have some houses at the site which we propose to keep, and to add another 17 units.
Following an extensive consultation process, we have modified our original proposals for staff housing to reduce the scale, retain more existing trees and address privacy issues. The revised plans shown here form the basis of our planning application.
Our careful study of the School site resulted in this proposal for new residential units on land facing Lonsdale Road and the School's driveway. The new homes will replace the uninspiring 1970s extension to a 'classical' villa, several garages and a surface car park. We have also taken the opportunity to create a new entrance to the School.
Our plans have considered the need to:

Scale and massing Lonsdale road has a scale and massing composed of double and triple villas, which the new buildings continue.
