Physical/Emotional and Sexual Abuse

Individual Groups For Women and Men

People in this category have been abused physically, emotionally or sexually. Such abuse is often perpetrated by someone who is in a position of authority. It could be a parent or some other family member. It could be a teacher. It could be a spouse or someone in the workplace. The abused person usually has insufficient resources or power to resist such abusive behavior and often concludes that there is something wrong with them or they are blameworthy or both. These attitudes carry over to everyday situations of life, which prevent them from relating to others in healthy ways. These people need outside help to solve this problem.

The help offered by Celebrate Recovery is spiritual. It starts with turning one’s life and will over to the care and control of Jesus Christ. The abused person acknowledges they have a problem, and they have not been able to put it under control. They recognize that Jesus Christ is their loving Higher Power, and He will provide all the resources needed to overcome their issues.

The abused person follows up by attending weekly Celebrate Recovery meetings. In these meetings they learn how to identify the underlying causes of their issues. They also learn how to appropriate God’s power in eliminating them. They learn how to forgive those who have hurt them and to make amends to all the people they have hurt.  They learn how to change their focus from themselves to others. The result is lasting freedom and permanent victory.

Over the years many abused people have gone through the Celebrate Recovery program with incredible results. Celebrate Recovery has a success rate much higher than conventional recovery programs. Why not give it a try?
