Recovery From Anger

Individual Groups For Men and Women

Anger is a secondary emotion. It has underlying causes which are rooted in fear, pain and frustration. These basic issues can go back to early childhood. People who feel anger, often express it in inappropriate ways or stuff it. As they continue to struggle with anger they may become addicted to its physical symptoms, i. e. euphoria at having pent up anger released or the adrenalin rush that often accompanies outbursts of anger. Often it becomes the only avenue open to deal with the situations of everyday life. These people need outside help to solve this problem.

The help offered by Celebrate Recovery is spiritual. It starts with turning one’s life and will over to the care and control of Jesus Christ. The angry person acknowledges they have a problem, and they have not been able to put it under control. They recognize that Jesus Christ is their loving Higher Power, and He will provide all the resources needed to overcome their issues.

The angry person follows up by attending weekly Celebrate Recovery meetings. In these meetings they learn how to identify the underlying causes of their anger. They also learn how to appropriate God’s power in eliminating them. They learn how to express anger in healthy and productive ways. They learn how to forgive those who have hurt them and to make amends to all the people they have hurt. They learn how to change their focus from themselves to others. The result is lasting freedom and permanent victory.

Over the years many abused people have gone through the Celebrate Recovery program with incredible results. Celebrate Recovery has a success rate much higher than conventional recovery programs. Why not give it a try?
