Sexual Addiction

Individual Groups For Men and Women

People struggling with this problem use sex as source of comfort to deal with pain in their lives. The pain can be caused by personal issues such as poor self esteem, shame, self-hate, abuse, lack of intimacy, abandonment, hurt, anger, frustration, etc. Sexual addiction can involve sex with self, sex with others, phone sex, cybersex and pornography. At first pursuing such activities may relieve tensions, but eventually the quest for relief becomes an addiction. The process eventually spirals out of control leading to greater levels of sex and lust. These people need outside help to solve this problem.

The help offered by Celebrate Recovery is spiritual. It starts with turning one’s life and will over to the care and control of Jesus Christ. The sexually addicted person acknowledges they have a problem, and they have not been able to put it under control. They recognize that Jesus Christ is their loving Higher Power, and He will provide all the resources needed to overcome their addictions.

The sexually addicted person follows up by attending weekly Celebrate Recovery meetings. In these meetings they learn how to identify their underlying issues causing their addictive behavior. They also learn how to appropriate God’s power in eliminating them. They learn how to forgive those who have hurt them and to make amends to all the people they have hurt.  They learn how to change their focus from themselves to others. The result is lasting freedom and permanent victory.

Over the years many sexually addicted people have gone through the Celebrate Recovery program with incredible results. Celebrate Recovery has a success rate much higher than conventional recovery programs. Why not give it a try?
