 Nicholas Tyler was appointed Legal Adviser to the Information Commissioner in April 2001. Nicholas Tyler joined the Commissioner's legal department in June 1998. Prior to this he worked in private practice in both Manchester and London as a solicitor.
As Legal Adviser he is responsible for the Commissioner's legal department, which provides formal advice to the Commissioner and her staff on all matters concerning the interpretation and application of data protection and freedom of information legislation. The department also handles all legal actions, including prosecutions, brought by the Commissioner. |
