Anne Jones - Assistant Commissioner (Wales)

Anne Jones joined the Information Commissioner’s Office
in April 2003, as Assistant Commissioner for Wales. Her remit is twofold -
to establish an ICO presence within Wales which is sensitive to local needs, and
to advise the main office on matters of particular concern to Wales.
Anne
has a background in library and information work, and has worked in public,
academic and commercial libraries in various managerial roles. Most recently
Operational Services Manager with Cardiff University libraries, she also has
considerable IT experience, having had responsibility for the implementation and
maintenance of library systems and other electronic applications when working
for Monmouthshire County Council. She has an honours degree in French and
Information Studies from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth (1978),
and an MSc in Information and Library Management from Bristol University
(1999).
