The Centre provides both advanced patient monitoring and routine HIV/AIDS laboratory services. Advanced patient monitoring services include genotypic and phenotypic drug resistance testing; therapeutic drug level monitoring; and mitochondrial DNA quantification Routine clinical tests include plasma viral load (HIV RNA); CD4 cell counts; and blood chemistry and haematology

Clinical research and analytical tools include:

HIV DNA quantification and sequencing
Clade analysis
HIV envelope analysis
Human genetic polymorphism and microsatellite analysis
Custom DNA sequencing and fragment analysis
Genotyping of hepatitis B and C viruses
HPLC Tandem mass spectrometry
Mitochondrial DNA quantification and sequence analysis
