Foley Island overview map The extremely low-lying Foley Island (637 km²) is located at the northeastern end of the Foxe Basin, off the southern coast of central Baffin Island and 12 km north from Prince Charles Island (at bottom-left in the above image). Between Foley Island and the Baffin Island mainland lie the smaller islands of North Tweedsmuir Island (off the east coast) and Anderson Island (off the north coast)

Elevations over much of the island average less than 20 m above sea level. The northeastern sector of the island contains the islands highest terrain, where the sandy Anderson Bluff climbs to 65 m (light-coloured region in the image).
