Rowley Island, overview map Rowley Island is located in the northwestern regions of the shallow Foxe Basin, lying 48 km southwest from the entrance into the Grant Suttie Bay region of western Baffin Island. Its immediate island neighbours include Koch Island 10 km to the northwest (at top edge of the above image) and Bray Island 3 km to the east (at left edge of the image).

The 1,090 km² island is elongate in form, measuring 70 km in length (southwest to northeast) and from 7 to 20 km in width. From the sandy coastal zones the island rises gradually to a narrow, flat-topped, central plateau region with maximum elevations of up to 67 m above sea level.
